About this image:
The Spirit in the Mist
Spirit of Yorktown is one of many cruise ships operated
by CruiseWest. While it was the only CruiseWest vessel
that we saw operating in Glacier Bay National Park,
Alaska, on our journey North we have seen several other
CruiseWest vessels. Spirit of Yorktown, which is
registered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, arrived and
stopped at the docks at Bartlett Cove in Glacier Bay
National Park. We didn't ask, but presumably they were
either picking up or dropping off passengers that were
staying at Glacier Bay Lodge or one of the many lodgings
in Gustavus or people that were travelling to or from
Gustavus, Alaska, just outside the National Parks'
boundary. With the large lower deck windows Spirit of
Yorktown offers it's passengers a panoramic view of
Glacier Bay as well as the
Humpback Whales,
Sea Lions, Sea Otters and other creatures of Wild
Alaska.
CruiseWest cruise line vessels:
Spirit of '98,
Spirit of Yorktown,
Spirit of Columbia,
Spirit of Endeavour and
