About this image:
Tlingit Tree Carving at the onset of Autumn
Welcoming autumn to Glacier Bay National Park, this Tlingit
Tree Carving stands at the ready. This is the same Carving
that we made an earlier picture of during the summer. This
time, considerable more tree sap had seeped out from the
carved area.

photo of the same carving made this summer |

About this image:
Rare Sighting of Mad Dog Voyager
This rare photo of Mad Dog Voyager finds us tied to the dock
in Bartlett Cove, Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska. At the
end of summer the fuel dock at the pier closes and we needed
to pick up fuel from in town. Several new friends in
Gustavus offered us their vehicles, to make our fuel run
into town. Two days later and we were back in the water on
the loose. |

About this image:
Checking email at the (closed) Glacier Bay Lodge
Although closed for the season, the WiFi internet access at
the Lodge was still available. Dean sits on the balcony
checking email. Although wearing our rain pants and jacket,
the sandals are the giveaway that we were not willing to
give up on summer yet. “Where is that waiter with our drinks
order??” |

About this image:
The Ice Age is Coming!!!!
Although a close friend of ours, we don’t always take Sid’s
advice and he never hesitates to point out when we are
wrong. “With friendzh like him, we alwayzh have to be on our

About this image:
“The radar shows an obstacle dead ahead!”
Peering out of the hatch above the inside navigation station
this photo was taken from the vantage point of a snowflake.
Later that same evening, there was an accumulation of almost
4” / 10 cm of snow. This kept up until the following
morning. |

About this image:
Happy Birthday Leo!!
While the wind and snow howled outside, we were toasty warm
inside enjoying homemade chocolate cake with a
Maple/Chocolate frosting and topped with pecans. Served
alongside, the macchiato espresso was topped with chocolate
flakes. Like 99% of everything we eat onboard, the dessert
was 100% homemade from scratch. This dessert and a movie was
how we spent Leo’s birthday on Mad Dog Voyager. |
