Moose in Scidmore Bay
About this image: Happy New Year Mr. Moose
While out adventuring and exploring in the dinghy, we encountered this moose who, by all appearances got a little carried away at the New Years party. With only one antler, we think he had a few wild stories to tell about the New Year’s party he attended last night…
Leo up to his thighs in snow
About this image: “Hellllooooo… can you still see me?”
Finding the deepest drift he could find, Leo managed to work himself deeper and deeper until his … were almost covered with snow. Yes, we do think it’s a good time to stop digging yourself deeper into the snow
Wolf in Scidmore Bay, Alaska
About this image: “Ooo…. that’s a cold wind blowing back there!”
Having dug Leo out of the snow, we were heading back towards Mad Dog Voyager when the wind and snow started blowing again. Shortly thereafter, this Wolf appeared on the shore and was walking with the wind at his back. We were elated – we finally had achieved success and had seen a wolf in Glacier Bay, the only animal we hadn’t seen yet. Little did we know how good it was going to get.

Barrow’s Goldeneyes
About this image: Barrow’s Goldeneyes on the move
This small group of Barrow’s Goldeneyes, caught our eyes as they floated/swam across our view. The two male Burrow’s Goldeneyes are the ones with the small white patch below the eye; the other two on the photo are the females.
A trio of Moose
About this image: Look it’s a group of Moose… or is it Meese … or maybe Mooses?
These three Moose were up to their knees this time, walking through the deep snow. As we came closer, but not so close as to disturb them, they continued snacking on willows while keeping an occasional eye and nose pointed our way.
Moose in the clearing in Scidmore Bay. Alaska
About this image: “Mmmmm, I love these All-You-Can-Eat bushes”
Positioned perfectly beside these scrub bushes, it is as though the Moose is contemplating how long it’ll take to eat the entire thing. Hope you brought your Rolaids…
