Utility programs for your computer are a dime a dozen - but finding ones
that are useful and useable is something different. Flash Renamer from
RL Vision is one of the utilities that clearly fall in the very useful
category!
Flash Renamer allows you to rename a list of files quickly and
effortlessly. The Mad Dogs use Flash Renamer to rename the hundreds of
photos we regularly take. For us the photo cataloging and organizing
programs are too clumsy, but with a few steps Flash Renamer has renamed
an entire batch of photos.
Here's the problem: You are out for the day shooting dozens of photos. Once transferred to
the computer they photos are named DSC_0267.jpg, DSC_0268.jpg,
DSC_0269.jpg, etc. Searching through these hundreds of photos for a
particular group of photos is a long and tedious process.
The solution: Flash Renamer can rename and serialize the photos with just a few mouse
clicks. Drag a group of photos into Flash Renamer, enter the new naming, click
the button and you're done! Instantly that group of photos DSC_0267.jpg,
DSC_0268.jpg, DSC_0269.jpg is now named 20100531_Glacier_Bay_sailing_001.jpg,
20100531_Glacier_Bay_sailing_002.jpg,
20100531_Glacier_Bay_sailing_003.jpg, making them easy to organize and find back.
